Considering its successful experience in development and implementation of Shiraz Special Economic Zone aimed at expansion of international and regional economic activity in previous years, IDRO has announced a recent plan for executing and deploying Garmsar and Jahrom special economic zones. Accordingly, the government cabinet approved of IDRO’s establishing and operational zing the two zones.The strategic and technical studies on the mentioned special economic zones were conducted by qualified engineering companies.
Garmsar Economic Zone
With an area of 2,000 ha at the 80th km of Tehran-Garmsar highway, this economic zone was delegated to IDRO in October 2012 with a focus on industrial-business activities, where the initial measures ranging from land acquisition, design and preparation operation have been completed.
Jahrom Economic Zone
With an area of 340 ha, this economic zone was delegated to IDRO in March 2011 with a focus on industrial-business activities.
The initial measures have been taken to establish the economic zone including completion of roads and preparation of 70 hectares of land in terms of water, electricity and gas.
Kavosh Research and Technology Park
Construction of Kavosh Research and Technology Park at 65th km of Tehran-Qazvin Highway started in 2005. The lands had been allocated for establishment of 14 research centers, which were later delegated to IDRO in 2005 for purpose of utilization. The park’s infrastructure comprises roads, water supply, electricity, telecommunication and sewage, which have been implemented and a number of research centers are already operating.
The park’s comprehensive plan has been in line with attracting foreign and domestic investments in five categories including automotive technology, nano-electronics, nano-technology, bio-technology and nano-technology in construction materials.
