Seyed Mohammad Atabak announced on Saturday on the sidelines of the launch ceremony for the National Dilapidated Motorcycle Renovation Plan: "We currently have 14 million motorcycles in the country, of which 11 million are considered dilapidated."

 He continued: "Those wishing to replace their motorcycles can register through the system of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) to arrange for financing facilities provided by banks and funds."

 The Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade emphasized: "The responsibility for replacing dilapidated motorcycles lies with IDRO. 

So far, nearly 25,000 registrations have been processed, with a portion currently being delivered, which will have its positive impact on society." 

He pointed out that the new motorcycles have lower energy consumption, stating: "These motorcycles are essential for public health and sanitation, as they produce significantly less pollution than the worn-out bikes." Atabak added: "Due to their fuel injection and electric systems, the new motorcycles will lead to reduced urban pollution, and this plan must be sustained." 

Stressing the policy that an old motorcycle or heavy vehicle must be taken out of circulation for every new one introduced, he concluded: "We are reviewing our policies and aiming to ensure the decommissioning of dilapidated motorcycles and vehicles."
