Danish envoy meeting IPMI managing director:
We Are Ready to Transfer Technology to Iranian Companies
Denmark's Ambassador to Tehran, Danny Annan, leading an economic-trade delegation met with the managing director and senior directors of the Industrial Projects Management of Iran (IPMI), which is one of the subsidiaries of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO).
During the meeting, the Danish envoy said: “We are seeking to increase cooperation with Iranian companies. I hope that we will sign good deals with Iranian companies in the energy sector,” IDRO News quoted public relations department of IPMI as saying.
He pointed out that over the past years and before the imposition of sanctions, Denmark maintained close relations with Iran and that the country is interested in resuming the relations, especially in the energy sector. He went on to say that Denmark increased exports to Iran by 78 percent last year and it is hoped that the increasing trend will continue.
“There are good opportunities for activity in Iran and we are ready to transfer technology and sell machinery to Iranian companies,” Danny Annan said. Referring that Danish oil and gas companies which are active in Iran are mainly offering services in the oil and gas industry and are experienced in operating in the North Sea.
Eng. Seyed Morteza Emami, the managing director of the Industrial Projects Management of Iran, for his part explained about activities of the organization, saying that the Industrial Projects Management of Iran is one of the subsidiaries of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran. IMPI is currently active in three phases of the South Pars gas field, he noted.
“God willing, phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars will officially come on stream in the month of Bahman (February 2017) and (the inauguration of) phase 14 of the South Pars is on the agenda by the Oil Ministry. We have made 2 billion dollars investment and we are interested to cooperate with Danish companies in this field,” Eng. Emami said.
He added that many countries have expressed willingness after the implementation of the nuclear deal to be present in the Iranian market. They are all interested to participate in different projects in Iran ranging from exploration to operation, he asserted.
The new model of oil contracts aims to encourage foreign investment in the oil and gas industry, the managing director of IPMI said, adding, “We need some 200 billion dollars in this area and we are inclined to make investment within the framework of forming joint ventures.
