Dr. Norouzzadeh Inaugurates Ship Maintenance Dry Docks in Azim Gostaresh Hormoz Company
A ship maintenance dry dock came on stream in Azim Gostaresh Hormoz Company located in the port city of Bandar Abbas in a ceremony which was attended by the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) chairman Dr. Norouzzadeh, and the governor general of Hormozgan province.Addressing the ceremony, which was held in Azim Gostaresh Hormoz Company, Dr. Norouzzadeh said: “The achievement is a fruit of efforts made by managers and laborers of Azim Gostaresh Hormoz Company over the past years. One of the dreams of people has come true.” Most of foreign companies announce that Iran is the only country in the region which has the capacity to launch joint ventures with foreign partners thanks to its suitable infrastructures and experienced manpower, he added.The chairman of IDRO went on to say that people should not be concerned of unemployment, because there is a great potential for job creation in the country.He referred to the sanctions and the shortage of financial resources as the main hindrances and obstacles, saying that the solution to emerge from the current situation is to provide a safe working environment and establish proper and fundamental relation with other countries observing national interests and reputation.He pointed out that large companies, such as ISOICO, Azarab, and Mashin Sazi Arak are working under the support of developmental organizations, such as IDRO, in a way that their potentialities are used in a proper way. For instance, IDRO has established a consortium in the implementation of the South Pars gas field project. Dr. Norouzzadeh concluded his remarks, saying that although the country needs resources to develop the national industries, but a national will and determination is more important. “It is hoped that we will be successful using Iranian thinking and innovation.”It should be noted that the ship maintenance dry docks have been established for the first time in the country completely using indigenized technology by Azim Gostaresh Hormoz Company, which is subsidiary of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO).The ship maintenance dry dock is 370 meters long, 80 meters wide, and 14 meters deep. The dry dock is ready to accept vessels as wells as light and heavy tankers for maintenance operations. The shipbuilding dry dock will be 470 meters long, 80 meters wide and 14 meters deep. It will come on stream in the near future.
