Dr. Norouzzadeh in unveiling ceremony of Volvo hauler:

​Iran’s Industrial Background Turned It into Hub of Industry in RegionThe deputy minister and the chairman of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) said that nowadays Europeans believe that Iran can be turned into a hub of industry in the region, because the country has a brilliant background in industry, especially in car making.He made the remarks in the unveiling ceremony of Volvo’s new hauler. The ceremony was also attended by managers of the ministry of industry, mining and trade, the secretary of the association of carmakers, senior managers of Saipa group and employees of the group. During the ceremony which was held in Saipa Diesel Company, IDRO chairman Dr. Seyed Reza Norouzzadeh said: “It is hoped that through adopting proper policies and under supports of the government, carmakers focus on boosting presence in the multi-hundred million market of the region.”This is not a tough task for Saipa Diesel Company considering its industrial background, he said, adding that the Volvo hauler is being painted and assembled in the company.The deputy minister of industry, mining, and trade referred to the policy for improving quality and quantity of cars in the country, saying that last year over one million cars were produced in the country and the figure is projected to be increased to 1.4 million as planned by the ministry and the carmakers.Regarding the cooperation with Chinese carmakers, Dr. Norouzzadeh said Chinese cars cam compete with European cars, but Iranian people tend to buy European cars. “So, we are willing to have European partners, although we do not want to lose our Chinese partners.”
