Eng. Shafei addresses the 11th International Management Conference: IDRO can play a key role to materialize development goals by 2025
The
deputy minister of industry, mines, and trade, as well as the chairman of the
board of directors of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of
Iran (IDRO), said that although governments are influential in facilitation or
hardening business in different countries through applying policies, approving
and enforcing laws and regulations, but the education system in each country
will be the determining factor in this regard. It can raise confidence among
university graduates in the working environment or dash their hopes in
launching their own businesses.
Addressing
the 11th International Management Conference, which was held at Razi Convention
Hall for three days, he referred to the importance of the idea of merging work
and education, saying that domestic universities, such as Sharif University of
Technology should play a key role to materialize the goal of merging work and
education, just like that in industrial countries such as Germany, Italy, and
Canada.
Referring
to world statistics, which have ranked Iran at 22nd place in the region and at
145th place in the world in terms of business environment, he said that
although the rankings are influenced by political and personal interests and
are aimed to undermine the country’s status in the international arena, but
this issue warns us to make more effort to improve our status and strive for
filling the gaps by 2025 in order to be ranked first in the region.
The
chairman of the board of directors of the Industrial Development and Renovation
Organization of Iran emphasized the need for analyzing the data which are
published by the international centers, saying that the accuracy of the data
should be verified by some institutions inside the country. Business entities
should announce weak and strong points, identify problems, and plan to resolve
the problems in order to help the country make progress in scientific and
industrial areas.
The
deputy minister of industry, mines, and trade said that IDRO, like the ministry
of industry, mines, and trade, is not in direct contact with people. It plays a
smaller role in the country’s business environment. IDRO can play its role
through cooperating with holders of technical knowledge and investing in
underdeveloped regions. According to him, a large portion of shares of IDRO and
its subsidiaries have been transferred to the public and different funds since
2008 based on the Article 44 of the Constitution’s policies.
To
conclude his remarks, Shafei expressed the hope that national managers and
officials would be able to support developmental organizations toward attaining
the goal of national progress. It should be noted that the 11th International
Management Organization was held January 11-13. Over 1100 scientific articles
were presented in 20 topics in the conference, which was held in
scientific-research and scientific-industrial sections. Also, 24 scientific
speeches and 29 managerial experiences were presented and 15 educational
workshops were held during the three-day event.
