First phase of tile, granite and enamel production plant inaugurated in Kashmar
The first phase of a tile, granite and enamel production plant, named Zohreh, was inaugurated in the city of Kashmar, the chairman of the board of directors of Industrial Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO) said, adding that products of the plant, sized 1mx1m, are second to none in the country.
Majid Hedayat, who is also the deputy minister of industry, mine and trade, added that the plant has the capacity to produce 10 million square meters of tile in different kinds of enamel and granite coated in unique dimension of 1mx1m. He added that the diversity of the Kashmar plant’s products is almost unique in the country.
For the time being, one third of the production line and all the necessary infrastructures for producing 10 million square meters of tile is provided, he said, adding that a majority of works has been completed and we are witnessing that efforts of officials and patience of people have been fruitful.
The plant has the capacity to supply its surplus output in soil preparation, which is basic for producing ceramics, to domestic and foreign markets, he noted. This is one of the most important specifications of Zohreh Kashmar tile, granite and enamel production plant, he added.
Hedayat also referred to the pressing machinery in 1mx1m dimension as well as the diversity of products as among the special features of the plant, adding that based on precise studies, which have been carried out on seven mines in the region, the plant is not facing any problem in being supplied with raw materials.
Studies which have been conducted on these mines by accredited labs, the best quality materials which are in the nearness of the plant and are of high added value have been selected, he said. The first two materials, which have been selected in the first stage, both are of high quality and are economically justified, he stressed.
The deputy minister of industry, mine and trade went on to say that fortunately the mines are near to the plant. The mines will provide the plant with its needed raw materials at reasonable costs, he said.
The chairman of the board of directors of Industrial Development and Renovation Organization expressed the hope that by the end of the current year all phases of the plant will come on stream at full capacity.
For the time being, production is underway at one third of capacity, he said, adding that by May 20, the plant’s output will be supplied to the market.
