German Bavaria state opens office in IDRODr. Mansour Moazami, the chairman of the board of directors of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) as well as deputy industry minister, received an economic and industrial delegation from the German Bavaria state. The delegation included Bertram Brossardt, the executive vice president and CEO of the Bavarian Industry Association, Bernhard Schwab, head of the Minister’s Office Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology, and the accompanying delegation. During the visit, the sides discussed a range of issues of common interest, opening the state’s office in IDRO. Welcoming the delegation, Dr. Moazami expressed hope that bilateral economic and industrial bonds between the two pave the way for more German companies to enter the Iranian market. The IDRO chairman referred to close relationships between Iran and Germany, saying, “The success of Bavarian companies and their subsidiaries in Iran can set a good example of boosting economic cooperation for other German states and Germany itself.” The deputy industry minister further said IDRO runs a wide range macro-industrial activities and is interested in entering effective cooperation with German partners in medium-sized enterprises, as well. Referring to unique industrial capabilities of Bavaria state in comparison with other German states, the IDRO chairman reminded that Iran’s master policy does not allow IDRO to act as a sheer importer: “Instead, our policy is based on bilateral cooperation and partnership and we hope the state’s office in IDRO starts it cooperation seriously, setting the scene for more interaction with the private sector.” Also, in the session, Bertram Brossardt congratulated Dr. Moazami on his appointment as the IDRO chairman, expressing thanks to him for opening the office as it can build bilateral trust and bring about effective industrial partnership: “Still, we are having problems with financing projects which we are bent on clearing through collaboration.” Also, the Bavarian official remarked that investment opportunities in the Iranian market have been introduced to Bavarian business owners and an increasing number of Bavarian companies will be attending Iran.“Even our French partners consult with us about investment opportunities in Iran,” he was quoted as saying in the session. Also, the official said they are in talks with German banks over relevant issues.
