Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Agro Industrial Company, located in the southwestern province of Khuzestan, started producing sugar for the fifty-fourth consecutive year.According to the public relations department of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO), a special ceremony was held in Haft Tappeh Sugar Production Plant. The ceremony was attended by provincial officials, employees and managers of the company. Dr. Seyyed Reza Norouzzadeh, the chairman of the board of directors of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran, said that working is the sole way of salvation for all nations. Working is meaningful in manufacturing environments such as factories and farms, he added. He went on to say that to resolve problems of Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Agro Industrial Company great efforts have been done, but the industry and other similar companies have suffered losses due to the improper implementation of the Article 44 of the Constitution.Norouzzadeh added that some people transferred factories to banks to settle their debts. They transferred the factories from the Ministry of Industry, Mining, and Trade, and the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran, to ministries which had not the specialty to run the factories, he noted. He pointed out that by Iranian calendar year 1392 (March 2013-March 2014), IDRO could not provide any help to factories similar to Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Agro Industrial Company. “Although we cannot provide help to such companies according t the law, but we are hoped to remove obstacles in cooperation with respected lawmakers,” he said.In line with its articles of association and charter, the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran is tasked with the development and renovation of industrial units, Norouzzadeh said. Although a series of law had impeded IDRO to do its task, but we requested a number of lawmakers to put returning the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran to its articles of association on agenda, in order to enable us to do whatever it takes to remove the problems, he explained.The deputy minister of industry, mining, and trade added: “It is hoped that the way is paved for the presence of the private sector in this environment under support of the company’s managers and the province’s officials. Although this is a demanding task, but it is not impossible,” he said.He expressed hope that the old industrial unit which was established 54 years ago will be renovated. He referred to the fact that each factory has three sections of fixed capital, operating capital, and human resource. Human resource causes capitals to work properly, he added. Of course, you the laborers have worked well and have proved that you know the value of machinery, he said.Alireza Kazemi, the managing director of Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Agro Industrial Company, said for his part that the company has the capacity to produce over 50,000 tons of sugar.He added that the company cultivates sugarcane on some 8,500 hectares area of land. Some 2,500 permanent laborers and 600 seasonal laborers are working in Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Agro Industrial Company, he said.Despite a shortage of water in the current farming season, the company has managed to continue cultivating sugarcane taking advantage of efficient and proper water management methods as well as support of officials, he concluded.
