Industrial Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO) of Iran has studied researches which have been conducted by Sharif University of Technology and it will support commercializing the researches through cooperating with the private sector, if the researches are proved to be economically justified.

Chairman of the board of directors of IDRO, Gholamreza Shafei, has recently paid a visit to Sharif University of Technology and meet with the chancellor and professors of the university. He expressed IDRO’s readiness to cooperate with the university to commercialize industrial plans and gain related technologies.

He also referred to the expansion of high-tech industries and the preparation of ground for gaining technology as well as commercializing researches in this field as among responsibilities of IDRO, which is the largest and the most important development organization in the country. Establishing links with universities and research centers is among the most noticeable measures which have been taken by IDRO to expand such relations, he said.

Projects with the subjects of measuring pollution in the air and highly resistant concretes using nanotechnology were put forwarded in the meeting, and it was decided to offer suggestions based on IDRO standards. If the projects are technically and economically justified, they will be put on agenda for investment.

 For the time being, a number of large projects, such as gaining the technology of reverse osmosis – membrane – and developing Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) system for cars are underway under the support of IDRO in Sharif University of Technology. IDRO chairman has got informed of the progress of work related to the projects during his recent visit.
