IDRO Committed to Undertakings in Phases 17 and 18
The chairman of the board of directors of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) said that the organization is routinely active based on a timetable in phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars gas field. He told the Shana news agency that no problem or delay exists in this national plan. “According to our commitment to the Oil Ministry, we are currently implementing parts of the projects transferred to IDRO in phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars,” IDRO chairman Reza Norouzzadeh said. A section of the phase 17 will be inaugurated in the month of Shahrivar (August 23-September 22), he noted. Hassan Boyeri, the manager of project for developing phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars gas field, had said that based on the timetable, the offshore and onshore sections of phase 6 to 8 of the South Pars are projected to produce 28 million cubic meters and 20 million cubic meters of gas per day by the end of the current Iranian calendar year, according to the Shana.Referring to the preparation for producing gas from the offshore platform of the phases 17A and 18A, Hassan Boyeri said: “This year, we are focusing on the implementation of projects which are transferred by the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) as the executive contractor in the onshore section for launching the second unit of the refinery.”He touched on implementing final stages of inaugurating platforms of the phase 18, saying that transferring gas from this field via pipelines is dependent on the construction of the remaining parts of the phase’s refinery. In line with this goal, the Industrial Projects Management of Iran (IPMI) and the International General Contractor (IGC) are tasked with carry out obligations according to the timetable set by the Oil Ministry meeting the employer’s targets for speed and quality. The manager of project for developing the phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars gas field added that two gas sweetening trains of the refinery of the phases 17 and 18 have been inaugurated so far by the Oil Industries Engineering and Construction (OIEC) Company. Now, IDRO has focused on procuring goods and installing equipment for final commissioning of the project and creating integrity in the facilities to receive and process natural gas, he said. The development of the phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars gas field is aimed to produce 50 million cubic meters of natural gas, 80,000 barrels of gas condensates, and 400 tons of sulfur per day, as well as one million ton of ethane and 1.05 million ton of liquefied gas per year.A consortium of Iranian companies is developing both onshore and offshore sections of the phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars gas field. The Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran, Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company, the Oil Industries Engineering and Construction Company, and Iran Marine Industrial Company (SADRA) are the contractors of the project. Previously, some media reported that contractors of the phases 17 and 18 are not committed to their obligations and to the announced timetable. Taking comments of the chairman of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO), it is proved that the reports were false.
