IDRO chairman of board of directors addressing 8th national award on productivity and organizational excellence:Model of Excellence Should Meet Iranian-Islamic Development Pattern
Companies and organizations which are affiliated to Industrial Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO) have received 9 out of 19 plaques of honor during seven editions of the national conference on productivity and organizational excellence.
According to IDRO’s public relations department, Mr. Majid Hedayat the chairman of the board of directors of Industrial Development and Renovation Organization addressed the 8th national conference on and productivity and organizational excellence, saying: “During 2003-2009, 34 percent of the plaques of honor for organizational excellence and 25 percent of plaques of honor for commitment to excellence have been offered to companies and organizations which are affiliated to IDRO.
Hedayat, also the deputy industries and mines minister, outlined performance of IDRO in the field of organizational excellence, saying that adopting a policy to institutionalize basics of comprehensive quality benefiting from the EFQM model aiming to improve productivity in affiliated companies and boosting their power of competition have been among plans of the organization since 2001.
Hedayat went on saying that since 2002, over 270 assessments have been carried out in six phases in companies affiliated to IDRO based on the EFQM model and the results have been included in the evaluation process of boards of directors.
The policy for selecting, training and educating independent and efficient evaluators across IDRO toward gaining organizational capability has always been paid attention, Hedayat added.
The national award on productivity and organizational excellence explicitly shows the effect of the award in business environments in national level in which we are witnessing qualitative and quantitative development of organizational excellence principles, he said.
The chairman of the board of directors of IDRO pointed out to the Supreme Leader’s directive on the Iranian-Islamic pattern for development, saying that the Supreme Leader has referred to the current situation as suitable for developing the pattern and a comprehensive roadmap taking advantage of domestic experts and inspired by Islamic resources and values.
Hedayat suggested that to institutionalize the organizational excellence model, the Iranian-Islamic pattern for development to be included in principles and content of the organizational excellence model.
It should be noted that in the 8th national award on productivity and organizational excellence, which was attended by the industries and mines minister, the deputy health minister and senior officials from organizations affiliated to industrial and mining, financial and economic, health and treatment centers at the IRIB convention hall, 5 statues, 48 plaques of honor and 62 certificates for commitment to excellence were offered to superior companies.
Mobarakeh Steel Company won over 550 points and was offered the silver statue. Four golden statues of the national award on productivity and organizational excellence were offered to Khouzestan Steel Company, Iran’s power plant projects management company (MAPNA), Saipa Malleable Company, and Tuga, winning 450 points. Also, 48 other companies, winning 300-450 points were offered certificates for excellence
