IDRO Strategy as Strategic Partner Is To Develop Industries, Accelerate National Industrial Growth

The deputy director of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) for developing industrial investments said that the organization participated in the international exhibition of metal working - Internationale Ausstellung für Metallbearbeitung (AMB IRAN 2017) with the aim of developing industries and accelerating the national industrial growth. The main goal of the organization is to develop and build machinery and equipment in the country.

Speaking at a press conference on the second international exhibition of metal working - Internationale Ausstellung für Metallbearbeitung (AMB IRAN 2017), Fardad Daliri, the deputy director of IDRO for developing industrial investments, said that IDRO was established 50 years ago in 1967 with the aim of developing and accelerating the national industrial growth, according to IDRO News.

Through establishing large companies such as Machin Sazi Tabriz, Machine Sazi Arak, and then through establishing other numerous companies in the field of building machining tools and large industrial equipment which required advanced technology, IDRO started activity. “Today, our main strategy is to serve the domestic industry” he added.

The deputy director of IDRO for developing industrial investments went on to say that the production of capital goods, such as machining tools, is a very fundamental industry. “The goals of self-sufficiency, resistance economy, job creation, and exports are all achievable through paying attention to this industry which develops other industries in the country,” he explained

“Today, the country is ready for huge investments,” he said, adding, “Some $50 billion should be invested annually for developing and renovating the domestic industries.”  

Fardad Daliri pointed out that development and renovation of the domestic industries will be followed by a market value of tens of billion euros. “The current operating machinery have not been renovated for several years. So, their products and qualities do not meet the world’s advanced standards. Therefore, it is required to expand cooperation in the international arena with different countries, including Germany,” he emphasized.

The deputy director of IDRO for developing industrial investments added that based on the current law, international cooperation should be conducted through domestic partnership. The AMB IRAN 2017 exhibition provides the opportunity for manufacturing inside the country and forming partnerships as well, he said, noting that IDRO is ready and interested to cooperate with German companies and other foreign companies in the field of creating joint ventures, domestically production, and forming partnerships.

After the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, called BARJAM in Persian, IDRO launched many joint ventures with European companies mainly in the fields of manufacturing power plant equipment, machining tools, equipment and components for the automotive industry, especially automatic gearboxes, equipment for oil and gas industries such as controller valves. So, if the companies which are present in this exhibition are interested, making investment will be possible in cooperation with the private sector in Iran and foreign partners as well, Daliri concluded.

The second international exhibition of metal working - Internationale Ausstellung für Metallbearbeitung (AMB IRAN 2017) will be held from May 23 to 26 at Tehran’s Shahr-e Aftab Fairground.

As per an agreement signed between the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran and the German trade show organizer Messe Stuttgart, IDRO is decided to cooperate with the German company in holding the exhibition in Iran.
