Mansour Moazami, chairman of the board of directors of IDRO, hosted a French delegation, where the two sides discussed ways to launch joint investment in the automotive industry.
The French delegation, headed by Mr.Olivier Bourges, executive Vice-President, and Mr. Jean-Christophe Quemard the Executive vice-President for Middle East & Africa, thanked IDRO for receiving them and proposed action plans to launch and implement new cooperation in the post-sanctions era.
In the meeting, Dr. Moazami pointed to previous cooperation between Iran and France in the automotive industry, expressing hope for further future links.
“In policies of the Ministry of Mine, Industries and Trade, special attention has been given to indigenization of spare parts manufacturing, exports activities, and use of home-grown items in products,” Moazami said.
Also, highlighting the importance of constructive cooperation which guarantees bilateral benefits, Dr. Moazami said it is important to bear in mind customers’ satisfaction of products so as to meet their needs.
And finally, the IDRO chairman pointed to the need for designing new models, saying any joint venture should take into consideration key issues. Some of these, according to him, are to indigenize at least 40 percent of spare parts, to export 30 percent of products, and to manufacture Euro-6 engines.
At the end of the session, the two sides agreed to propose their plans.
