IDRO keen on expanding ties with China: Chairman
Dr. Norouzzadeh, the chairman of the board of directors of IDRO, met Pang Sen, the Chinese ambassador to Iran, where Pang Sensaid the signing of the nuclear accord has set the scene for more bilateral cooperation between Iran and China. Iran has a unique opportunity to expand its relationships in all areas since the country has colossal mineral deposits and benefits from industrial and human resources, Pang stated, adding that the two countries have numerous capacities for cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, among others. Providing details on the steps taken to implement already signed agreements in industrial domains, Pang said the meeting can contribute to more immediate actualization of set goals and joint plans between the two countries. Dr. Norouzzadeh, for his part, welcomed the ambassador and reminded him of the significant status and role of IDRO as a key development organization, saying that Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mining, and Trade, as the body responsible for industrial policy-making, has set cooperation guidelines and requires that all organizations move accordingly. “IDRO is active in the fields of rubber products, shipbuilding, rail transportation, and power plant construction, and we are in talks with a number of foreign firms,” Dr. Norouzzadeh was quoted as saying in the meeting. The IDRO chairman further hinted at the expansion of Iranian-Sino ties, expressing hope for the two sides to reach agreements in fields of common interest.
