IDRO subsidiaries boost exports by 50 percent in first half

Companies affiliated to the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO) exported about $168 million worth of products in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 20, showing 50 percent rise compared to the same period in the previous year.

The figure stood at $112 million in the first half of the past year. The significant rise occurred while a number of the IDRO subsidiaries were transferred to the private sector and economic sanctions of the West were intensified against the Islamic Republic. The achievement shows great efforts of the IDRO subsidiaries.

According to the public relations department of IDRO, exports of Saipa amounted to $110 million in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year, showing 72 percent rise compared to the same period in the previous year.

Iran Khodro exported $53 million worth of products in the same period of time, showing 26 percent rise compared to $42 million in the same period in the previous year. Seventeen countries have been reported to be the main destinations for products of the IDRO subsidiaries. Iraq, Venezuela, and Syria were the three top buyers of the products with $64 million, $20 million, and $15 million worth of imports, respectively.

Tabriz Machine Building Company and Esfarayen Steen Complex were among other top exporters affiliated to IDRO.
