Industrial Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO) will manufacture 16 offshore drilling rigs and 2 onshore drilling rigs benefiting from capabilities of domestic producers.

The first vice-president has transferred the right to IDRO to make arrangement between the National Iranian Oil Company and drilling companies for procuring 16 offshore drilling rigs and 2 onshore drilling rigs.

The decision has been made by the special representatives of the president in the oil working group and according to the article 127 of the Constitution.

Based on the decision, the National Iranian Oil Company is allowed to pay up to 25 percent of the fee for drilling service contracts as advanced payment to drilling companies.
