Khodro Resumes Exporting Products to Russia
Iran
Khodro has resumed exporting its different products, including Runna and
Samand, to Russia as the company received the Russian standard certificates.
Addressing
a special ceremony on the occasion of resuming exports to Russia, the managing
director of Iran Khodro Hashem Yekkeh Zare’, said that the company will export
10,000 cars, including Samand, Souren, and Runna, to Russia in the first phase.
It is hoped that other brands of car would be also exported gradually, he
added.
Hashem
Yekkeh Zare’ touched on U.S. President Barak Obama’s order to impose sanctions
against the Iranian car industry, saying that positive developments are being
happened in the car industry. Positive measures have been taken over the past eight
months. Despite all the problems, including the sanctions, the country’s car
output rose by three folds in the current year compared to the preceding year.
According to projections, the company will introduce three new products over
the next 10 years. Three or four of the products will be manufactured
domestically using indigenized technology, he said.
Based
on the received certificates and an agreement with Iran Khodro’s representative
in Russia, Iran Khodro will export 10,000 cars by the end of 2015. By receiving
the certificates, all brands of cars manufactured by Iran Khodro, including
Samand LX, SE, Souren and ELX are allowed to be exported to Russia and the
Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The managing director of
Iran Khodro Industrial Group, the director general of the automotive industries
bureau of the Ministry of Industry, Mining, and Trade, a number of parliament
members, the Iranian ambassador to Russia, the commercial attaché of Russia in
Iran, and some media persons attended the ceremony of resuming Iran Khodro
exports to Russia.
