The director of the trade bureau of the Trade Promotion
Organization of Iran underlined the need to expand trade relations with Germany
through holding joint exhibitions.
Mehrdad Jalalipour, the director of the trade bureau of the
Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, added that there are 30 fairgrounds in
Iran. He made the remarks on the sidelines a meeting between a group of German
exhibition organizers and Iranian economic entrepreneurs. The largest
fairgrounds in the country are located in Tehran, Tabriz, Shiraz, Mashhad, and
Isfahan, he said, adding that more than 400 exhibitions are held at the
fairgrounds meeting international standards.
According to him, Iran has participated in 60 international
exhibitions. One of the biggest pavilions of Iran is in Germany, he said.
The director of the trade bureau of the Trade Promotion
Organization of Iran went on to say that pursuant to referrals of international
entities holding exhibitions, we are planning to hold joint exhibitions with
different countries. Germany exports technology, assembly lines, machinery, and
systems to Iran and imports petrochemical raw materials, traditional products,
such as carpets, pistachios, handicrafts, and dried nuts from Iran. We are
planning to improve Iran’s status in holding exhibitions taking advantage of
Germany’s experience, he explained.
During the meeting, the international affairs director
general of the Koln International Exhibitions Company, said that holding joint
exhibitions by Iran and Germany is of high importance for expanding the
bilateral trade ties. The two countries can have access to each other’s market
this way, he added.
On behalf of the Koln International Exhibitions Company, I
announce that there is no problem for improving trade relations with Iran,
because Iran is very important for us and we are waiting for Iranian exhibitors
in Germany, Blarf Heide added.
Many Iranian products, such as dried nuts, pistachios,
saffron, raisins, biscuit, chocolates, and computer games can be showcased at
the Koln International Exhibition. They are highly welcomes, he said.
