Iranian parties sign deal for fomestic jack-up drilling platform production
A memorandum of understanding has been signed between four Iranian parties for the development of technical know-how and construction of offshore jack-up drilling platforms in Iran.
The four-party memorandum of understanding was signed on the sidelines of the first international event on matchmaking in Iran’s sea-based economy at the Qeshm International Exhibition Center.
As reported by IDRO News, the signatories of this pivotal document include Mohammad Mehdi Salari, Head of the Supreme Council of Marine Industries’ Secretariat; Vahid Khavai, CEO of the Industrial Projects Management of Iran; Salman Zarbi, CEO of the Iran Shipbuilding and Offshore Industries Complex; and Hamidreza Taebi representing the Academic Jihad.
According to the memorandum of understanding, five offshore drilling platforms worth approximately $750 million will be constructed in the first phase after preliminary studies.
