Iran’s industrial background turns it into a hub of industry in region
The chairman of the board of directors of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) as well as the deputy minister of industry, mining, and trade said that European countries have come to the conclusion that Iran can be turned into a hub of industry in the region thanks to its brilliant background in industries, especially in the car industry.IDRO chairman Dr. Seyed Reza Norouzzadeh made the remarks on the sidelines of a ceremony to unveil a new Volvo hauler. The ceremony was held in Saipa Diesel Company with the participation of senior officials of the Ministry of Industry, Mining, and Trade, the secretary of the association of Iranian carmakers, managers of Saipa Industrial Group and the company’s staff. Norouzzadeh expressed hope that through adopting proper policies and under supports of the government, entering regional countries is on the agenda by the domestic carmakers.The chairman of the board of directors of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran went on to say that due to buying and selling of Saipa shares the working section of the industrial group have been facing with problems. “But, we are planning to remove the problems in order to continue production will full strength.” Regarding the policy of the Ministry of Industry, Mining, and Trade, in the area of car industry, Dr. Norouzzadeh said that considering the tariffs which have been imposed on the importation of cars in CBU and CKD methods and the meaningful difference between the tariffs, the power of competition for manufacturing car parts domestically should be increased. This issue is not difficult for Saipa Diesel Company considering its industrial background, so that the Volvo hauler is being painted and assembled in the same company, he added.The deputy minister of industry, mining, and trade said that referred to the policy for improving the national car industry both in quality and quantity, saying that last year domestic carmakers produced over one million cars and the production of 1.4 million cars is on the agenda by the ministry and the carmakers.Dr. Norouzzadeh touched on cooperation with Chinese carmakers, saying that Chinese cars can compete with European cars, but Iranian people tend to buy European cars. So, we are willing to cooperate with European partners, although we do not want to lose the large Chinese market.
