Norouzzadeh Appointed New Director of Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran




Seyed Reza Norouzzadeh has
been appointed as the new chairman of the board of directors of the Industrial
Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO). Industry, Mining, and
Trade Minister Mohammad Reza Ne’matzadeh appointed Seyed Reza Norouzzadeh as
his deputy and the new chairman of IDRO.



 



In a decree to the new
chairman of IDRO, Eng. Ne’matzadeh elaborated on the main topics of activity of
the organization as:



 



- The development of the national industry through establishing
industries based on modern technologies



- The development of
management and human resources in the industry sector through offering
educational, research, and consultation services



-        
Making investment and promoting the private
sector investment in less developed areas and in high-risk industries, as well



-        
Renovating, revamping, and modifying the
structure of important industries in line with improving productivity and
boosting production



-        
Providing finance for implementing projects
and attracting both domestic and foreign investment



-        
The promotion of applied researches and
technological know-how with an approach to boost the domestic production



-        
Supporting the domestically production of
equipment and heavy machinery required for oil, power, and transportation
industries



-        
Boosting technological cooperation between
domestic and foreign industrial hubs and scientific and research centers



-        
Improving the competitiveness power of
industries to boost their presence in the international market



-        
Making investment in modern industries
overseas with the goal of enhancing managerial methods and gaining foreign
currency income and participating in the implementation of large industrial and
infrastructure plans



 



It should be noted Seyed
Reza Norouzzadeh was the representative of the city of Esfarayen to the third,
fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh rounds of the parliament.



 



He has also chaired the
industries and mines committee of the parliament. He has been a member of the
board of directors of the Kowsar Economic Enterprise and a member of the board
of directors of the Iran Khodro Khorasan Company. Norouzzadeh holds a PhD in
international commercial management.



 



Addressing his inauguration
ceremony, Seyed Reza Norouzzadeh said: “Although benefiting from a valuable
brand, IDRO has experienced many ups and downs over the past 47 years of
activity. However, the development of the Iranian industry has been and is
undoubtedly indebted to IDRO.”



 



Dr. Norouzzadeh thanked the
industry, mining, and trade minister for his trust, saying: “I hope that all of
us would jointly work to revive the stance of the organization and it is hoped
the goal would be achieved.”



 



He added that without
industrial development it is impossible to achieve development in other
sectors. Universities have been developed in the country because industrial
units have been expanded by IDRO, he said.



 



The deputy industry, mining,
and trade minister went on to say that IDRO is distinctive from similar
organizations because of its establishment law and its articles of association.
Over the recent years, the establishment law o IDRO has been dented seriously.
But, we should know that IDRO is a national asset and should be safeguarded.
There is s lot of potentiality hidden in the organization. We should pave the
way for these potentialities to be utilized, he explained.



 



Dr. Norouzzadeh added that
IDRO has introduced the Iranian industry to other countries and taken the lead
for initiating non-oil exports in Iran.



 



Seyed Reza Norouzzadeh, the
chairman of the board of directors of the Industrial Development and Renovation
Organization of Iran, was born in 1952 in Roueen Town, suburb of the city of Esfarayen.
He was graduated from Shahid Beheshti University in bachelor’s degree of
chemistry. He received a master’s degree from Amirkabir University in
industrial engineering. He also holds a master’s degree from Allameh Tabatabaee
University in industrial management. He has received a master’s degree from the
Industrial Management Organization in governmental management. Norouzzadeh has
finished PhD course at the Researches and Sciences branch of the Islamic Azad
University in industrial management.



 



Norouzzadeh started his
political and social activities before the Islamic Revolution in 1979. He was a
member of the Islamic Association of Students (1979-80). He took part in the
occupation of the U.S. embassy in 1979 in Tehran. He was appointed as the director
of the Education Organization in 1987. He was elected for the first time as the
representative of Esfarayen to the parliament in 1988. He has served as the
representative of Esfarayen for five consecutive rounds since then.



 



He has also been a member of
the Association of Iranian Engineers in 1989, the chairman of the Association
of Industrial Managers in 1998, the chairman of the industries and mines
committee of the parliament. Dr. Norouzzadeh has been a member of the board of
directors of different industrial companies, including the Iran Khodro Khorasan
Company.
