Producing 48 Million Cubic Meters of Gas in South Pars Phases 17 and 18

​The manger of the project for the development of the South Pars gas field phases 17 and 18 said that it has been planned to produce 28 million cubic meters of gas and 20 million cubic meters of gas respectively from the offshore section and phases 6 to 8 of the field in the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 21.In an interview with Shana, Hassan Boyeri said that the offshore platforms 17A and 18A are ready to come on stream. He added that the focus is on the implementation of project by the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) as the executive contractor of the onshore section based on launching the second unit of the refinery.Referring to the implementation of final stages of commissioning platforms of the phase 18, he said that transferring gas from the field via the pipeline will be dependent on the completion of semi-finished units of the refinery. In this line, the Industrial Projects Management of Iran (IPMI) and the Iran International General Contractor Company (IGC) are tasked with meeting their obligations based on the Oil Ministry’s timetable with speed and quality approved by the employer. The project manager of phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars gas field added that two gas sweetening units of the refinery of phases 17 and 18 have been so far launched by Oil Industries Engineering and Construction (OIEC). Now, the implementation of work to procure goods and install equipment for finalizing the plan and creating integrity in facilities for receiving and refining gas are on the agenda, he added.It should be noted that the development of phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars gas field is aimed to produce 50 million cubic meters of natural gas, 80,000 barrels of gas condensates, and 400 tons of sulfur per day, as well as one million tons of ethane, and 1.05 million tons of liquefied gas per year.The development of onshore and offshore sections of the project is being implemented by a consortium, comprising Iranian companies. The Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran, the Oil Industries Engineering and Construction Company, and Sadra are the contractors of the plan for the development phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars gas field.
