Exports of all clinical and medical treatment products, which had been imported using official rate dollar are banned in this stage and a list of goods which have been domestically manufactured using raw material imported using official rate dollar will be sent again after being announced by the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education.
According to the Trade Promotion Organization’s managing director, the ban on exports of the mentioned goods was aimed to support the rights of consumers.
Hamid Safdel said that the cabinet approved a plan on September 29, with the goal of banning exports of over 50 items of goods, aiming to support domestic producers and procuring raw materials for downstream industrial units. According to the approval, it was decided to restrict exports of the mentioned goods till the time the confidence is gained for meeting demands of domestic producers for raw materials and secure rights of consumers, as well.
Since petrochemical units have announced readiness to provide raw materials for downstream industrial units so we are currently reviewing the restriction to remove a number of the goods from the proposed list, he said.
