Self-Assessment Is Most Prominent Effect of Excellence Award
The chairman of the board of directors of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO) addressed the 10th national seminar on organizational excellence, saying that the most prominent effect of the organizational excellence award is that industrial and non-industrial organizations will assess their performances.
Eng. Gholamreza Shafei added that such self-assessment is conducted in four fields of strategy, human resource development, leadership, and technology. Improvement of manufacturing and non-manufacturing organizations is assessed in the four mentioned fields, he added.
Human resources, leadership, and staff are of the greatest effect in organizations. If employees are seriously paid attention by leadership in an organization, all parts of the organization will be developed, he noted.
The IDRO chairman referred to some verses from the Holy Quran regarding factors of excellence among people, and added that observing rights of others and beneficiaries of organizations and economic enterprises are of high significance. Excellence of an organization means observing rights of customers, employees, and beneficiaries. If each of the groups is not satisfied, excellence will not be materialized, he said.
He also emphasized the need for observing rights of the government, saying that the government is committed to provide infrastructure and non-infrastructure services. This issue will be made possible through paying taxes. If economic enterprises do not pay taxes, the government will not be able to provide the services, he explained.
Shafei, who is also the deputy minister of industry, mines, and trade, stated that observing rights of banks and repaying due debts and observing qualitative and quantitative standards both for services and products by economic enterprises and organizations are among the main factors toward gaining excellence.
It should be noted that the 10th national seminar on organizational excellence was held at the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting’s convention hall and Mobarakeh Steel Company was honored to receive the golden trophy of excellence for the first time after a decade.
