Shafei: IDRO welcomes cooperation with high-tech European countries

The commercial attaché of Czech Republic in
Iran has voiced his country’s interest in the expansion of ties with Iran.
Peter Stepanek added that the Czech government has prepared different plans to
expand industrial and trade ties with Iran. A meeting between economic and
industrial officials of Iran and Czech Republic will be held September 17-23.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Gholamreza Shafei, the chairman of the
board of directors of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of
Iran (IDRO).

This meeting will be a good opportunity for
economic and industrial officials of the two countries to discuss ways to
expand bilateral ties, Stepanek said.

The commercial attaché of Czech Republic in
Iran welcomed possible visits of Iranian officials to Czech Republic, saying
that Czech Republic is ready to boost cooperation with Iran in the areas of
public transport expansion, as well as tire, crystal, and electronic production.

An international industrial exhibition will be
held in Czech Republic in October, he said, adding that Iranian officials and
companies are welcomed to participate in the exhibition, which can be a
platform for further cooperation between Iranian industrialists with their
Czech counterparts.

For his part, Shafei said the Industrial
Development and Renovation Organization of Iran is ready to expand cooperation
with high-tech European countries. The country welcomes industrial cooperation
with Czech Republic, he said.

Czech Republic has advanced notably in car and
crystal production industries, he said, adding that Iran is willing to
cooperate with Czech Republic in the field of electronic industry.

The chairman of the board of directors of the
Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran said that IDRO
welcomes Czech Republic’s direct investment in Iranian industries. Shafei added
that the Islamic Republic of Iran offers many advantages to foreign companies,
especially European companies, to invest in the Iranian industry sector.

European companies have lost many chances in
Iran by turning toward other countries in Asia, like China, the IDRO chairman
said. The Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran is ready
to lay the ground for increasing cooperation between Iranian industrialists
with European companies, he noted.

Huge investments are being made in Iran’s oil
and gas sector, Shafei said, adding that the volume of investments will be
increased further in the future. So, Iran welcomes high-tech European countries
to invest in Iran’s oil and gas industries. The Industrial Development and Renovation
Organization of Iran is planning to increase tire production capacity by
150,000 tons per year in cooperation with the Iranian and foreign private
sectors. We are ready to cooperate with any country in this respect.
